Riz Ahmed is making his way back to television, set to star in and co-create a new comedy series for Prime Video, as reported by Variety. In the series, Ahmed will play Shah Latif, an actor navigating an existential crisis just as he’s on the brink of landing the role of a lifetime.

The project, originating from Ahmed’s Left Handed production company, aims to expand Prime Video’s comedy lineup following the success of shows like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Joining Ahmed as co-showrunner is Ben Karlin, known for his work on Modern Family and the recent series Minx. Prime Video’s venture into this new comedy series is anticipated, although neither a title nor a release date has been revealed yet.
