Later on, Lum opens up to Ataru during a stroll, but he gets sidetracked by another girl. Lum tries to catch up with him, but eventually, she returns to her ship.

Meanwhile, Ten tries to engage Lum in conversation about Ataru, but Lum’s mind is elsewhere. Lum’s father interrupts with news about Lum’s great-grandfather, who had gone missing during their relocation.

He insists Lum return home to meet him. As Sakura senses an ominous presence, she consults her crystal ball with Cherry. Ataru joins them, and the ball reveals an image of Lum, prompting Sakura to predict trouble for her.

Back at Ataru’s home, his worry mounts over Lum’s absence. Lum finally arrives at her family’s residence, followed closely by the elderly figure. Lum’s great-grandfather recognizes him, leading to a discussion about Lum’s destiny.

It transpires that Lum’s great-grandfather had struck a deal with the elderly man, who now plans to coerce Lum into marrying his great-grandson. Lum’s family vehemently opposes this arrangement, setting the stage for a tense confrontation.

Later, Mendo and Ataru encounter a mysterious cloaked boy, whom they take to Sakura for help. A flashback reveals the boy, Rupa, as the great-grandson of the elderly figure, who intends for him to marry Lum.

In a past encounter, Rupa mistakes Sakura for Lum and flirts with her, angering Lum. Despite her attempts to repel him, Rupa persists and even puts a ring on Lum’s finger, signifying his intention to marry her.

It’s revealed that Lum’s ring contains a special powder that accelerates her growth whenever she uses her electric powers. The plan is for Lum to reach adulthood like other Oni beings, losing her powers and horns in the process.

Ataru tries to help Lum remove the ring, but they inadvertently trigger the powder, leading to Lum’s transformation. She encounters Rupa again, but this time, her powers vanish, and her horns fall off. Rupa escapes, leaving Ataru to call out to Lum as the episode ends.
