10 B.C. authors named to CBC Nonfiction Prize longlist

Ten authors with B.C. ties have been named to the longlist for the CBC Nonfiction Prize.

The local authors include: Adrienne Gruber of Bowen Island; Christine Lowther of Tofino; Finnian Burnett of Princeton; Jane Potter of Victoria; Laurita Love of Penticton; Libby Gunn of Gabriola Island; former Vancouverite Kelly S. Thompson; Therese DesCamps of New Denver; Louie Leyson and Yvonne Tang, both of Surrey.

The B.C. writers join a larger collection of 38 authors from across the country to make the longlist for the annual book prize, which is held in partnership with the Canada Council for the Arts. The winner receives $6,000 from the arts council, will have their work published on CBC Books and will be invited to attend a two-week writing residency at Artscape Gibraltar Point, 

The winner will be announced on September 21.
