One person injured in targeted shooting in Mission

Mission police are investigating after a person was injured in a targeted shooting.

Mission RCMP received several reports of gunshots in the 37000-block Laminman Avenue, near rural properties and a gas station, at around 5 p.m.  Monday.

One person was found injured and was airlifted to hospital.

Shortly after the shooting, police received a report of a vehicle fire at Doyle Street and Richards Avenue, about four kilometres away.

Officers cordoned off the area and are investigating whether it is linked to the shooting.

“The shooting appears to have been targeted, said RCMP in a news release late Monday. It does not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.

It asks witnesses or those with surveillance or dash-cam footage to contact them at 604-826-7161.
