Burnaby RCMP searching for person charged in fatal pedestrian crash

An arrest warrant has been issued for a woman charged in the death of a 75-year-old pedestrian.

According to the Burnaby RCMP, 25-year-old Jena Dae did not appear in court in relation to a driving without due care and attention charge connected to the Sept. 16, 2021 incident.

At the time, police said a vehicle was being driven east on Kincaid Street when it turned north on to Smith Avenue and collided with a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and at that point was co-operating with the investigation.

The victim was taken to hospital where they later died.

Dae is 5-foot-2 with brown hair, brown eyes and a slender build.

She may be driving a blue 2020 Honda Civic with B.C. licence plate LV362M and is known to frequent Maple Ridge and Mission and more recently Northern B.C.
